There was once a new employee who had just joined the company.
On the first day, they were full of enthusiasm:
“I’ll do my very best to become an outstanding employee!” 😎
The second day:
“Hmm… how am I supposed to do this?” 😳
The third day:
“Why can’t I seem to get this right no matter how many times I try?” 🥲
By the end of the week, they sat there with a sigh:
“Maybe I’m just not suited for this job…”
A colleague happened to walk by and, after hearing this, smiled and said:
“You’ve only been here for a week, and you already want to be as good as someone with five years of experience?” 😂
The new employee was speechless.
The colleague continued:
“No one starts a job knowing all the answers. Even skilled people once had days when they didn’t know what to do. The difference is that they didn’t give up just because they didn’t know yet.”
From that day on, whenever faced with something difficult, the new employee stopped thinking:
❌ “I can’t do it.”
And started thinking:
✅ “I can’t do it yet… but I’ll learn.”
One month later, they were able to do things that had once left them completely stuck.
Three months later, that same employee was helping a new colleague:
“Don’t worry. When I first started, I didn’t know how to do it either.” 😊
🌱 Perhaps working is a little like growing a tree.
No one can plant a seed today and expect to have shade tomorrow.
A little knowledge every day.
A little experience every day.
Fixing one mistake every day.
Making a little progress every day.
Then, one day, when we look back, we may be surprised to realize:
“Oh… I’ve actually come this far.”
So, if today you are facing a difficult task, a goal you haven’t achieved, or a setback…
Don’t be too quick to think that you are not good enough.
Perhaps you are simply in the middle of your journey. ❤️
Keep trying a little harder, learning a little more, and helping one another a little more.
Because at Sông Lam, we are not only working together to get the job done.
We are growing together.
